Hi there. My name’s Mal and I’m one of the software developers at Nonlinear. After graduating from Durham University in 1996 with a BSc Hons in Computer Science, I joined Nonlinear Dynamics, initially working on our 1D and microarray software. These days, I’m to be found working on Progenesis QI and Progenesis QI for proteomics. No matter what I’m developing, however, I always find work in the life sciences to be both fascinating and rewarding.
In terms of software development, my particular interest lies in usability. It’s great to work in a company like Nonlinear Dynamics, where the user experience is taken seriously. I hope I can continue to make your working life more pleasant with upcoming releases.
Outside of work hours, I like to split my time between adrenaline rushes — many of which are motorsport-related — and pure relaxation such as hill-walking and days out at National Trust properties with my wife and baby daughter.
