HUPO 2010 update

Having worked for Nonlinear for close to 14 years, I’ve been fortunate to have travelled all around the world in that time. I have to say that Sydney is one of my favourite cities to visit.  Having completed a 24 hour trip from our office in North Carolina to Sydney, we decided to take a swim at Bondi Beach on Saturday to try and shake off the jet lag before the HUPO conference started. The biggest swells for a long time meant 8 foot waves were pounding the beach which was quite a challenge, but it got us limbered up to set up our booth 🙂

Getting to work on Sunday night we opened the exhibition with a Welcome reception. This was a great time to catch up with many friends, colleagues and customers.

Monday started in earnest, and what I have found from the people visiting the booth is that researchers here in Australia have the same challenges as the US and our quantify and identify workflow in Progenesis LC-MS has been very well received.

As well as helping new potential customers understand our products, we had many existing users visit us to meet with our experts on the booth. Prof. Li from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science, who purchased Progenesis SameSpots and Progenesis LC-MS in July took the opportunity to talk to us about his analysis using our software. It’s always great to meet users and talk like this, so why not come and see us at the next event we are attending?

Tonight there is a wine and cheese spectacular, which we are all looking forward to, I’ll report on that and the latest news tomorrow.

All the best from Down Under,

Mark Bennett (that’s me in the red shirt below!)
