Hello. My name’s Paddy and I’m one of the marketing team at Nonlinear. After graduating from Cardiff University in 1993 with a BSc (Tech.) Hons. in Applied Biology, I worked as a research scientist for SmithKline Beecham for 7 years. I then used this background and my interest in science to start a new career in marketing with Nonlinear, in December 2000. Ever since then, I’ve been sharing the message of how our Progenesis products can help your research.
What I do day-to-day is varied, which I love, but it all boils down to the same thing: sharing exciting information with users and people we’d like to be users. Having a science background is essential when you have to do this, given the highly intelligent and creative people in our field. The best bits are working with scientists on the ground to support our marketing claims. This has led me to become an industrial supervisor for a PhD student at Northumbria University as well as getting active in The Fixing Proteomics Campaign.
When I’m at home, I share my life with my family, which includes two young daughters, and, whenever I can, I head to the coast. This means fishing on a pier, walking on the beach, or, as a member of the outdoor swimming society, swimming in the sea.
