At Nonlinear we don’t believe in standing still, in our software development and in other parts of the business, we are continually striving to reach the next level. This was never truer than when we embarked on probably the quickest office move in history (I don’t have any data to back this up – but it certainly felt that way!). We moved into Keel House, our brand new high-specification offices in January 2010, and through an expansion of the team we were soon starting to out-grow the space on the first floor. When the opportunity arose to move into the ground floor office, which had a lot more space, it was too good a chance to pass up. And we wouldn’t even need to change the address on our letter head.
The only downside was we only had 3 weeks in which to complete our move. So it was a case of all hands on deck, and with a lot of preparation and planning, we were able to settle into our new office on April 8th with minimal disruption to our day to day work. Quite impressive really!
We are getting used to our ultra-modern and spacious surroundings, and it is all looking super-tidy at the moment. We just need to sort out the air conditioning (I sit under a vent and it is a bit chilly) and it will all be perfect.
We are about to enter a strange few weeks in the UK, as there are many public holidays in a short space of time. This weekend (Friday 22nd – Monday 25th) is Easter weekend, and then the following Friday 29th April is a public holiday due to the Royal Wedding where Prince William will marry Catherine Middleton. It is tradition in the UK to have a party in the street with your neighbours as a celebration, and this is one tradition we are following in my street. So fingers crossed for a sunny day. Finally, we have the traditional May Day bank holiday on Monday 3rd May.
Lots of new stuff coming from the Nonlinear team in the next couple of months. We are all very excited about it, but I’m keeping quiet – keep an eye on the blog where all the latest updates are posted.
